Light plays a vital roe in our daily life and is an imperative cross cutting discipline of science in 21 st century U.N general assembly on it's 68 th session proclaimed 2015 as international Light Year and Light based technologies ,that  aims to raise 'awareness on how  light based technologies promote sustainable development and provide solutons to global  challanges in energy, education , agriculture and health.As a part of this programme , a two day national seminar on the topic "light, Energy and Environment "was conducted at Department of Physics,Farook College during 27-28, March 2015. 

              The seminar was inaugurated by Prof.Goerge Vargees ,Director, Kerala State Council for Science and Technology at 9.30 AM.at  a function presided over by the Principal of Farook College. Mr. Goerge Vargese Presented a talk on"Energy crisis and various Methods to Tackle it by Light sources"
